About Abbie Cornett

Abbie Cornett was born in Omaha, Ne. on August 22, 1966. Abbie's mother is Mary Cornett, retired Omaha City Clerk with over 50 years of service to the city. Thus, Abbie grew up around the leaders of Omaha and eastern Nebraska.

She was educated in Omaha schools and received her high school diploma from South High School in 1984. She then attended The University of Nebraska at Omaha and Bellevue University, paying her way often with various public service jobs.

Abbie became an Omaha Police Officer in November of 1992. She served in the Uniform and Investigative Units over the next 10 years. While serving on the Department, she met Mark Stranglen, a Criminalist with the Omaha Police Crime Lab. They were married on September 13, 1997 and are the very proud parents of 3 year-old twin girls, Victoria and Madison.

In June of 2002, Abbie retired on a service-connected disability. She then finished her education and received a Bachelor of Science Degree. She is presently working toward a Bachelor of Arts Degree. Abbie plans to continue her education towards an advanced degree.

While working for the law firm of White and Wolf as a legal assistant, she decided to use all her experience and involvement in public service. She is running for the State Legislature representing District 45.
